Screwing with the battery compartment

So I need to rewire a bunch of stuff in my "battery bay" and add some extra bits. I need to mount battery trays/boxes to the floor and chargers and switches to the walls of the battery compartment under the passenger seat. Is that carpeted wood, or is it bare fibreglass under the carpet? Basically, how deep can I go to screw stuff in without hitting something underneath or behind the carpeted areas?

The floor is fine, the only wood you are going to find is the sides of the engine bay and the very back back of the storage compartment under the passenger side seating.. any other areas you screw into will be fiberglass and would likely go through it.. look up my battery install and you should see where I screwed everything on an identical boat.

the panel the battery switch is on is wood, and the panel the Noco Charger is on is wood.. all the rest including the floor is fiberglass.

Thanks, that's what I needed and is pretty much what I'm looking to do. Would a 1 inch screw be about right for screwing in battery boxes?

Is your charger in the engine bay?

yeah I used 1 inch drywall screws.. the charger is in the engine bay
