So I installed my two transom speakers but ran into an issue with slight spider cracking around a few of the screw holes. Per specs I drilled 3/32 holes and chamfered. Screws were very tight. In fact I sheared a head off of one so I plan to replace all with stainless steel. I later upped the bit to 7/64 and still experienced 1 screw hole spider cracking. I don't want to really go up another bit for fear of not having any bite. I can use the clips on some of the interior speakers but still have others where I can not reach the back.
Any ideas/tips? Thanks
