So I installed my new Seadek pieces (walk through pieces) from JBP tonight, which went on and look great. However, the new pieces really show how stained from the tannic river water the original flooring was!

So out came the Dawn and the pressure washer. I couldn’t believe how much “tea” came out from our river.

Now the inside flooring is back to pretty good, but there are some dingy parts that just wouldn’t get as bright.

Chemical recommendations to get them as bright as possible?

Home depot, zep purple industrial degreaser/cleaner. Keep it off your skin and aluminum. Its a sodium hydroxide cleaner like oven cleaner. I get it in 5 gal jugs and use it for everything.

Just like everything else this year: SOLD OUT

Simply green and a 2000 psi power washer would be best. Full strength s.g. and a scrub brush on the stubborn stains. We had Sea Dek on the swim platform of our Express we sold over a year ago and just before it got sold a did this treatment and it looked brand new when I was done.

On the seadek site, they recommend several cleaners, mention a degreaser is good for certain stains, but say to avoid simple green.

TSP cleaner is a vary strong one and my go to cleaner for tough jobs........ it does cause cancer.

Now that is interesting. I see Meguiar's Car Wash is on that list of products to avoid too! WTH? Simple Green can be diluted at various strengths, and I've never used it full strength on the boat. I'm going to have to go look at the physical Seadek care doc that came with my boat. I could swear they actually recommended Simple Green since it's biodegradable.

I stand corrected! I just pull my documentation out from when I purchased my boat and it is indeed Marine Mat not Seadek MarineMat DOES recommend Simple Green as a cleaner. Seadek DOES NOT!

Thanks for clearing that up!

What we had on our Express was actually Ocean Grip so I was fine. We don't own it anymore anyway so I don't know if it's damaged or not. We have Seadek on our Yamaha and I've only used the power washer.

Dek Magic SeaDek Cleaner works well, Just don't be afraid to rinse it well...if ya don't it can be a little slippery to walk on at least initially.

Dek Magic sounds like a great product, but seems to be sold out everywhere this year...............

It's really surprising that Simple Green isn't safe on Seadek though. It's typically one of the safest degreasers you can use, especially in it's diluted form. I once used it to clean up a white center console on a 1966 Mustang that was very dirty, and it worked wonders. Typically, Blue Dawn dish soap and Simple Green are safe go-to cleaners. I'll have to remember this if I install a Seakdek kit in the future.

Windex and a drill brush. If windex will remove 2 year old gum from a kids carpet, and remove old coffee stains from a truck interior, I am pretty sure it can do anything, including curing cancer.. (dont really drink it). My disclaimer. Lol

Simple Green is safe on seadek.

Installed my seadek from JBP in 2016. Have sprayed oil spots on seadek with full strength simple green, scrubbed it with a deck brush, and washed it out with a hose numerous times and without incident removed the stains completely to match the other seadek pieces. Search the forum. JBP recommended it in a post in 2019 to clean seadek, if not earlier.
