About to leave to head near dc (5 hrs away) to pick up our new AR240. My AR230 had a problem with seats flying around while trailing. I know with the new boats all the seats are hinged except the front two. Will they be ok or should I store them in the head compartment?

do you have a cover ? you can tow with the cover and they should stay in place

I do but I think towing with a cover causes it to wear prematurely

I've towed several hundred miles, including 60 mph+ freeway miles, and no problems with the two small bow jumpseat cushions moving around. '18 212X. I think you'll be fine.

Use the "shipping cover" for towing.
Yes, it will age prematurely. But, better that than seat vinyl if you ask me.

my cover was ruined when it got rained real bad and the post collapsed. It i now so overstretch that even with the support posts it will pool.
On the optimistic side until early this summer my boat is an enclosed storage, so the cover is just to keep the dust out.

One more thing to keep in mind, is that the mooring cover will scarf the gelcoat. Especially if it is not tight enough.

It came covered. Good to go. Lost my license plate. I’m guessing all the bouncing around at 85 mph will do that.

Congrats! We'll need photo proof of course!

Also, dont forget to update your boat info in your profile!

Nice cover. Always close the windshield when towing. I have read some horror stories with the windshield window open. To me the cover is like luggage..sadly sacrificial to protect the stuff you really care about. No point keeping the cover safe, it's purpose is to safeguard the boat.

Wow that shipping cover sure does seem to go a lot lower below the rub rail than my 242ls shipping or mooring covers. Are all ar240 covers that way?
Yep, I want one of those new shipping covers!
