Is the easiest way to remove the seat for Seadek install to unbolt it from the floor? I thought the pedestal would slide out, but no go....

It does slide up... kind of. Make sure it is not locked up and the adjustment screw/bolt is loose. Then just wiggle it up. I had the same struggle, was about to unbolt it from the floor when it finally just popped up. :)

Worked! Thanks for the tip. I made sure to grease the pedestal when it went back on.

Grease the pedestal! I did not think of it... Thank you.

Thanks! I had the same dilemma and didn't want to unbolt the base for the seadek installation.

The trick I found was to have it swiveled halfway between forward and facing port side. Everything loose and and lifts right off with little to no effort. Mine had a ton of water in it... guess it does not drain well.
