Serious feedback through aftermarket tower speakers

Okay: haven't had an issue with our upgraded stereo and speakers until today.

If running Pandora through my phone, connected to the stereo or just running the tuner, there is some serious static all of a sudden. From both speakers.

All connections on the back of the unit appear good and tight.

Any suggestions?

No, all the speakers actually. Maybe the cord I'm using to connect? Moving it around doesn't seem to change anything.

Can't be the cord as there is feedback without the phone even connected.
