Just bought this 2017 Expedition to tow with versus my old Explorer. I'm a little surprised how much it says with nothing in the car. It's about the same as my Explorer but I thought this would handle it a little better. Should I flip my hitch over to raise the tongue a little?

Looks fine to me. How’s it tow?

Looks good, should be level. Check your tongue weight on a scale. My towed not great till I got the tongue weight in line, about 8.5% for me and it smoothed right out. I have a 2017 expedition limited and it is rated at 9500 towing, mine is 4 wheel drive and has the HD towing package. Tows the boat like a champ, which I estimate is around 5000lbs fully loaded. Wonderful vehicle for towing, plus I got the 2nd row bench so I can put 8 people in the truck, still tows great. Bought it used two months before I picked up the boat in May of 2020. Explorer's are rated at 5000 if I am not mistaken.

I only took it to work and back, about 20 minutes each way to test it out but it seemed fine. Will take it to the beach tomorrow, 5 hour drive.

Mine is the same configuration, 2017 Limited which comes standard with HD towing package. It's also an 8 seater. My Explorer is a 2006 V8. It was legally rated to 7200 but that's before manufacturers standardized ratings. It drove fine but I felt like I'd be picking up transmission parts off the highway towing this boat with it another summer hence the Expedition.

As far as raising the tongue, just put a level on it when on level ground hooked up. Adjust if needed.
