Simrad Depthfinder Inop

Today the depthfinder did not work in my factory 9” Simrad. The temp was shown but not the depth and all the fish I didn’t catch were not displayed . I power cycled house power a couple times and unplugged and reconnected the wires on the back of the unit to no avail. The gps chart works fine. If it’s a clue I was unable to change frequency from 200mhz, that was greyed out. Anything simple to try before calling dealer? TIA

Had the same. Found this. Boat is breaking faster than I can fix it.

Go into the settings and see if the Simrad sees the transducer.
Do you check to see if there was any debris on the transducer? Did you visually check the transducer?

@FSH 210 Sport thanks for the reply. Where Is transducer? I assumed it was thru-hull so I didn’t look. Boat is on lift so it wouldn’t be hard. I went thru all the menus I didn’t see a settings menu about transducer

Its either in the engine bay or the aft bilge. Somewhere in the settings or other menu there should be description of the transducer and at least I my Solix there is some sort of a connectivity status.

Thanks. I couldn’t find anything amiss. My dealer has a shop in my marina they are going hook transducer up to test scanner this week in my slip and see if it’s bad. I’ll post whenever it’s diagnosed.

Let's hope not, as the Simrad loses a pile of functionality if shot through the hull.

Dealer says it's defective transducer under warranty. They ordered one and it is supposed to be in this week. I guess winter is a good time to have boat break - they have time to fix it!
