I'm about to install a Simrad G07 Nav on my 2015 AR240. As of now, I'm not installing the TotalScan and the install looks very straight forward. I was reading the install manual and this unit has the yellow Power Control wire which is optional to connect (says to common the yellow with red after fuse) if you want the unit to automatically power up when power is on versus leaving it disconnected and having to turn the unit on.
So, is there a noticeable benefit of one approach versus the other? For those who have it installed, which route did you take? I'm thinking to connect it since I'd expect to have it on 99% of the time I have the boat turned on. However, if we're say parked at a sandbar or restaurant listing to the radio, it probably doesn't need to be just to be on. Thoughts?
