I have a 2017 ar240. I'm looking to add sirius in the boat as reception is not that good. The dealer says I need to add the vehicle adapter. How do I know which one I need? Is the satellite receiver already in the boat or do I need to add that also? Thanks for any help!!

You need the SXV300v1 tuner below. It plugs in to the polk head unit under the helm. Run the antenna up through the gps puck antenna hole. It works great.

I 2nd that. Did the same add on a couple of weeks ago and it works great. Can get music in places where radio and phone reception just don't work.

Haggle with them when you activate. I got 6 months for $30. I figured $5 a month isn't bad for tunes on the water and don't have to worry about phone reception/data/battery usage etc.

I bought my own Onyx XM radio (comes with portable antenna-I also bought a house kit) and use it both in the house and on the boat (I'm never in both places at once). I bought a lifetime license many years ago (when they still offered them) and am happy I did....one of the few good decisions I've made in life....pity it wasn't an investment decision! LOL

@Julian , I did the same lifetime thing back in 2005 when it was just Sirius ! XM was a competitor and didn't offer some of the sports programming extras. $399 and can transfer it up to 10 times on different head units. I've used 5 lives. Tried my best about 6 months ago to purchase another lifetime and they just laughed at me !! More time than not I just use the Sirius internet radio app on my iPhone and Bluetooth it thru the Connex system but I do have good cell phone data reception on Lake Cumberland. Big advantage.

I remember talking about this with @ArmyChief while in Bimini in 2015. He suggested not bothering with the Connext system and just going with this item that can be moved from boat to car:

Thanks guys! I ordered the sxv300 part. I have XM in my wifes car and in my truck so they will either give me a good deal for the boat or I will just transfer it out of my truck for the season.
