Destin from Smarter Every Day is doing a deep dive on the Coast Guard. This particular episode is on the RBM "response Boat Medium". Twin 850hp Diesel Jet powered response boat.

There are too many great moment about jet boats for me to list here. Destin gets super excited about them as well.


I particularly like the premise of "beckys"....essentially practicing mechanical casualties under non-emergency circumstances so you build mental and muscle memory on how to address them. They use the example of clearing clogged jets as a run through.

So much cool stuff in this video. He's fun to listen to as well!
 
Here's a really good spot for you twin engine guys. Destin goes through the workings of how to get a jet drive to go various directions. Including a sideways slide from a standstill!
