I needed a #4 Robertson Bit to remove the fuel tank hatch cover on my SX230. I ordered 20. So I have 18 extras if anyone else needs them. $2 for 1 or $3 for 2 mailed to you. I confirmed that they are the correct fit. I also confirmed that they are not going to do much with a regular screwdriver. I plan to use a small cordless impact to remove the bolts.

@gunnerson, this is the bit you need. Feel free to use the part number locally if you can find it. I gave up and ordered.

@Bruce those are good bits and hold up well. I did the same thing you are doing a couple of years ago. Your bits should sell quickly.

Bruce, I'll take two. Just let me know how you want to handle the transaction.

Thanks for organizing this!

I'll take 2 as well. Thanks!

hi Bruce,

Thanks for pulling this together! I'm interested in two.

Thanks
Mark

I'm in for two! BTW... those are also used for all the fasteners on the swim deck of the LX boats.

I'll take 2 also!....Thx

Thanks Bruce I need them this weekend will try and find locally.

@Bruce I had no luck finding them locally. Can you send me 2 please. Let me know how to pay you .
Thanks
Adam

@gunnerson update your profile with your location so we know where you are, maybe there is a member close by with one to loan you for the weekend,

Just for reference, if you're really desperate, most hardware stores sell square steel welding rods by the foot. The last time I needed to get those screws off, I just bought one of each size up to 3/8", found the one that fit and used vice grips. It's slow, but it works. :)

I just paid you.....Thanks Bruce:winkingthumbsup"

These bits work. I started off with one but ended up needing a second when I lost the first under the tray.

They held up well and did not strip the screw heads.

Unfortunately I had to get out the big impact for 6 of them and three of those broke off. The best method for the stuck ones seemed to be short bursts with the big impact.

@Bruce did the three hard ones have any white chalky substance on them ? I had several that were very difficult, I had to manually twist back and forth 1/8 of a turn to finally get them out,

They did. Two of the broken once can be removed with vice grips. Not sure how I will get the third out. Possibly a reverse threaded drill bit.

@cozilla, @gunnerson, @Zarrella, your bits went out in the mail today. Adam keep an eye on the mail. We are close enough that yours may arrive on Saturday.
