I got my new stereo. I bought a Sony MEX-M70BT. I was told it is compatible with the RM-X60M wired remote. Well, it's not. The connections are different. From my short time researching, the remote uses a UniLink connection, but the stereo does not have that connection - it has a connection that looks somewhat like an S-Video connection. Apparently the remote buttons will work, but the display won't. I don't want that - it'll just make me mad every time I look at it. Does anyone know if there's an adapter or something to make the remote display work? Does anyone know of another head unit that will work with that remote (I don't care if it plays CDs, but I need bluetooth!)? Does anyone have a Sony wired remote without the display they might want to sell, trade, or donate (I think it's model RM-X11M)?

I am putting together plans for a possible full stereo upgrade and the Sony units are on my list. I researched the remotes, and that one you have seems to only be compatible with older (discontinued) head units. though available, that remote seems to have been discontinued as well ...which is unfortunate compared to the other without the LCD screen.

I finally got the remote installed. I ended up having to get the non-display remote. It uses a 3.5 mm jack and plugs in to the back of the stereo. The power isn't needed but it lights the buttons if connected. Wish they were red! Of course, the remote was well overpriced since it was discontinued. Since I was left with an extra hole, I put in an LED that comes on with the stereo to make it look like something was supposed to be there. I'm really impressed with this Sony setup so far. If the remote with the display would have worked, I'd be even happier. IMG_5491.JPG
