We are seriously considering the 2016 212SS. Test driving on Saturday. I notice that when I sit in the port seat (captain chair) that my head is above the windshield. This kind of defeats the purpose of the windshield I would think. Has any one noticed this or felt it was an issue? Dealer offered to remove the seat and put in a lounge seat. The whole reason we were picking this model was because of the dual captain chairs. Thanks in advance.

You might be surprised when you sit behind the wheel while the boat is in the water. When on the trailer the top of my windshield is usually in my line of sight, but when in the water the bow sits higher and it's just the right height. Although I rarely sit low in the seat. Usually on the bolster with my head above the windshield.

After re reading your post I see that you were talking about the passenger seat. Sorry I can't offer insight with that one as I have J seating. My bad!

I have a 2016 212ss myself and haven't really noticed the issue to be honest as we have always just used the bolster to put us above the window. Different expectations really.

It's fast, agile and an elegant boat IMO(I have the grey). If you have never piloted a jet boat slow speed maneuvering takes some getting use to. If you choose to purchase I would definitely suggest the thrust vectors as they do improve it a lot.

You can also replace the fixed post on the seat with an adjustable one if you want to get the height just right. Pretty sure there is an FAQ on this topic.

And there wasn't an FAQ on swapping out the seat pedestal...but there is now! LOL
