Damn I wish I was closer to Texas. . . . .

NY :bawling:

We will be up there August 22nd for a week, celebrating our 25th Anniversary!! Have fun on the houseboat and make sure she is anchored down good if the monsoons kick up, that lake turns into an ocean sometimes!!!

They do kick up. We got stuck in one going through the narrows while towing Sotally Tober with the House Boat. It was pretty bad. It didn't help that there was a mass exodus of every single boat on the lake zooming by me. Definitely made my butt pucker. I'm relieved that the Castle Rock Cut is open.

Another lesson learned: Bring the anti pooling rods for the boat cover. It seemed liked it rained a little bit every night. Luckily we brought the mooring cover but forgot the rods. Had a nice little pool on top of the cover every morning.

Being in the narrows sucks on a normal weekend, could not imagine during a storm. I keep our pooling poles in the boat, never now when the Monsoons will kick up.

Our oldest is up there right now....he and a bunch of friends...17 kids between all the families. I'm home watching the Dodgers
