I'm considering getting rid of my tower speakers and replacing them with a soundbar. We don't do much in the way of watersports, and they're a bit loud for listening in the boat/just behind, really. I have a JL400/4 to power whatever I replace the towers with. Whats the best option these days?

Wet Sounds seems to be the best in the biz for soundbars, at least for boats and UTVs. On my tower I put a WS Stealth 10 SURGE soundbar and it worked great, it would carry sound far enough for surfing and hanging out behind the boat. I wired it with a separate volume control from the in-boat speakers so you could pick which you wanted louder. they have ones with the amp built in or without so if you want to use the existing amp you could.

I'm happy with the wet sounds sound bar that came with our boat. I ended up pointing it forward to fill in the front cabin and bow with more sound when I hadn't put in the extra forward cabin speakers. Ended up leaving it that way.

Be aware, when you move from the separate speakers to the bar, you will lose some significant "fullness" to the sound. I have a powered Wetsounds sound bar. it's LOUD, but very low on bass. Has 10 speakers. (8) 4in and (2) 1in. it's exceptionally clear, and sounds great otherwise. I love the low profile of it, and the look personally.

Check out creativeaudio.com. I bought a refurbished unit from them for significant savings over new, and it's been great.
