Hi all,
Just thought I would share with you what I have been working on. I decided to give it a try and soundproof some areas in the boat. I purchased, through Amazon, a product called Noico 80mm soundproofing which is a peel and stick product similar to dynamat but much cheaper. I used 72sq.ft in total but I'm sure I can use more and double up in some areas to further improve. I can snap some pics when I uncover the boat next if people are interested but in a nutshell I focused on the following areas:
underside of floor locker hatches / ski locker back wall between fuel tank, sidewalls and floor of left and right u seating, port cooler storage area and starboard behind driver console area. The last area was inside the engine bay specifically above the fuel tank and either side of the engine hatch where I doubled up on the existing foam.
I'm sure I can double up on the engine hatch foam but I would have to order another box of 36sq.ft, which i may do. Overall I am very pleased with the results. I can actually have a conversation cruising between 5000 and 6000 rpm's which was not possible previously.
