Hi all,

Just thought I would share with you what I have been working on. I decided to give it a try and soundproof some areas in the boat. I purchased, through Amazon, a product called Noico 80mm soundproofing which is a peel and stick product similar to dynamat but much cheaper. I used 72sq.ft in total but I'm sure I can use more and double up in some areas to further improve. I can snap some pics when I uncover the boat next if people are interested but in a nutshell I focused on the following areas:
underside of floor locker hatches / ski locker back wall between fuel tank, sidewalls and floor of left and right u seating, port cooler storage area and starboard behind driver console area. The last area was inside the engine bay specifically above the fuel tank and either side of the engine hatch where I doubled up on the existing foam.

I'm sure I can double up on the engine hatch foam but I would have to order another box of 36sq.ft, which i may do. Overall I am very pleased with the results. I can actually have a conversation cruising between 5000 and 6000 rpm's which was not possible previously.

Love to see the pics when u get a chance!

@Scarabpaul

I’m definitely interested in pics as well when time allows.

TY!!!

Any pictures?

This has me interested as well. Bring on the pics!

Not sure if you guys are interested in his specific boat soundproofing or soundproofing in general. But I did my 165 last year and actually measured as best I could the differences (graph and everything! lol). I was annoyed by all the anecdotal evidence with no measurements. Mine uses a soundproofing material that is both mass vinyl "loaded" (i.e. dense layer) for low frequencies and a foam for high frequencies.

With that in mind, post 34 is the work, post 39 are the results in case you're interested. https://jetboaters.net/threads/scarab-165-mods.17479/page-2
