Hey All,
Bit of a pickle, my tower speakers sound great when I turn them up to about 75% volume, then when I kick it up to 100% on the potentiometer (I leave the head unit at 100% and just adjust the pots) the sound gets severely muffled and not as loud. When I lower it back down to 50% it will get clear again after about 30 seconds. I previously ran the exact setup on 1 amp in 2 ohm parallel for interior and tower speakers and had no issues with volume, just the am would go into protection mode after playing for 5 hours. Any advice you can provide would be helpful. All speaker and power connections are tight. Only happens to the tower speakers and not the interior speakers. (on separate amps)
The setup:
Interior - 4 - ds18 8 inch speakers
Tower - 4 - kicker 8 inch speakers
Both are powered by 2 NVD jad800.4 amps. The second amp was added 2 weeks ago.
Wiring structure is as follows:
Power:
4 gauge from battery (2 bank) to distribution block (12 feet)
4 gauge from distribution block to each amplifier (1 foot)
Audio Signal:
RCA from head unit to potentiometer
potentiometer to splitter to each amplifier input
2 potentiometers - 1 for interior and 1 for exterior speakers
