Does anyone know if having a stainless steel scupper is an issue for the 242LS?

The 24o series boats moved the scupper above the waterline. So this is MUCH less of an issue than with the boats that have the scupper below the water line. That said, if it is plastic, it could break....but if it does.....you have a lot less to worry about. Biggest worry would be if you took on water....if the scupper was broken, then deck water would wash into your bilge.

I still have a plastic scupper on my boat (under the water line).

If I were you, I'd leave it be. Check on it once a year.

Agreed. Julian is on the money. It is the membership here (of previous origin) that discovered this was a possible weakness on the previous boat models. Yamaha changed in 2010 as Julian said, and relocated the scupper to prevent this from being the catastrophe it once was.

Cool, one less thing I need to worry about, I hadn't even been thinking about it.

@Julian Exactly what I'm talking about.

I am grateful that julian clarified this for all of us. I had been kinda wonderin' (worried ?) about this item for some time now.
Again, many many Thanks ! Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA
