Has anyone boated in or around St George Island in FL?

I've boated several times in PCB and Destin and really have enjoyed it. I've been told St George Island is very nice for boating also.

I live in the Panama City area, I plan on venturing down to St George Island area this year as well...plan on camping down there with the boat...that's what I've been wanting to do anyway;-)

We rented a beach house there a few years back and it was an awesome place to visit. We did not bring the boat, but it looked like a very cool place for day cruises.

Thanks for the replies!

I've heard and seen great things about St. Georges Island, however, I have never been there. I live in Destin and we are going to plan a trip over in the boat to Cape San Blas this upcoming summer. St. Georges Island is just beyond that.

Let us know if you end up going and any hints or suggestions you can provide.

I just got a job working at Cape San Blas, so I am sure I will be doing some exploring down there this year.
@ToddW850 let me know when you do the trip, I assume you are going ICW?

Awesome @Wayloncle ! I will take ICW over if we are going just for the day. Wife has mentioned staying a night or two. If we do that, then I'll trailer it over. Heard low tide can be tricky over there. I will definitely let you know if we head over.
