Its like having no power steering in the car.... LOL

@bronze_10 Yes I FINALLY put the boat in the water and on the slip...

I am assuming that I Need to lube the hell out of the steering ? Is it a PITA when its on a lift ?

Any tips or suggestions....

Cheers

also @veedubtek GO CAPS GO :)

ugggh.. these just got replaced not even 2 years ago......

Bad karma and bad hockey taste go hand in hand. :P

Sounds like my new sx230 needs new cables also. Party at my place, yinz supply the cables and beer, I'll provide the Pittsburgh themed garage and a box of wrenches.

No harm in trying to lube them first. Hose, oil, air, some hose clamps and movement may get you a few more months of smooth operation before the winter.

Have you done any other mods to the boat or anything behind the helm, we had a member a while back did some mods and ended up pinching the cable causing them to be stiff,

I would disconnect the jet and see if it moves freely and maybe even disconnect the each cable from the steering box to help localize which cable might be giving you problems. It would be strange to hear both went bad especially since they are both relatively new,

If this is a cable issue vs a steering box or binding jet nozzle issue lubricating is ok for the short term to get you through the season but you will have to change the cables eventually. It won't get better. Did you put the new, small rubber boots on the cables at the jet nozzle end when you replaced the cables last? This helps to keep water and salt away from the cable strands.

Did you fix yours yet? I haven't but I need to soon. Running out of summer.

No sir.... been busy as crapola... flying to LA on tuesday...

@bronze_10 said he would come up and help out... I have yet to see him this summer....LOL

Perfect! My cables arrive tomorrow! How about 7PM? :D

Sure I'll help.... As soon as u park it in my driveway like everyone else I helped.. Lol
