I wanted to start out with a very nice looking install and BIG, with lots of base.. I spent several months deciding on everything from batteries, cables, amps, speakers, chargers and layout..
I knew we had the room to go big, we took about 12 inches away from the enclosed head and ended up with 4.7 cubic feet of air space to work with.. I decided to use 2 DD Audio 1500 as the are lighter (20 pounds each) and can handle up to 1000 watts RMS each and can be configured with carbon fiber for water resistance. Each speaker was hand built in OKC with carbon fiber and composite cones, composite dustcaps, supercharging.
I used 8 Polk Audio 6.5 MM651UM speakers wired in parallel then series to the amp, this kept the ohm's the amp see's to around 3 ohm's. I ran the 2 speakers on the deck in series and the 2 in the bow in series and then connected them in parallel to the amp and the same with the other 4. 2 speakers were installed down low near the drivers and passengers side. The Polk Audio DB1001 tweeters are wired directly to the stereo and receive all of its power, they are the only thing connected to it besides the RCA connections to the AMP's.
All AMP's are fed sound/signal from the wet sounds WS420 EQ/sound processor.
The DD Audio M1 1700 Watt mono block amp was used to power the sub's, they are wired to a 1 OHM load and each speaker is getting about 800 to 1000 watts. the C5C was bridged and used to power the 6.5's at a 3 OHM load and each speaker is getting about 150 AMPS.
Each amp has its own 10,000 watt stinger capacitor feeding power, that way they always have enough power to work at there rated power output. I added these after the install because the amps were only getting about 11 volts directly from the batteries, now they receive 12.7 Volts (14.2 when plugged in and charging).
We used 00 gauge wire for everything, connecting the battery banks and the run to the capacitor's. From the capacitor we used 4 gauge to the amps.. All battery banks have 300 amp fuse's on the positive and negative leads within 12 inches of the batteries.. I connected 2 batteries together for each bank and each bank runs 1 amp. I installed 2 Guest chargers, 1 for each bank of batteries and a pig-tail off of 1 for the boat battery during winter. I have 6 batteries total, 5 are grounded together but the stereo and engine batteries are completely separate.

these are from the tweeter install in the tower, I had to dremmel/file some to get them in.. It is a very tight compression fit but they have stayed there with no issues..
