Attached is a picture of what my Stoltz bow roller did to the bow of my boat. I thought these were not supposed to do this.

im not sure if this is an older version but most of the ones i see are bright orange. I replaced my factory roller with a 4" stoltz in 2013 but i have a black hull. although i feel if mine were doing the same as yours, i would notice a significant difference in sheen where it makes contact?! im sure more experienced members will respond shortly.

That does not look like a Stoltz?

The ends say Stoltz RP325 on them and the roller is a 335. I don't know how long Stoltz has been around but the trailer and boat are a 1997 and they were on the trailer when I bought it two years ago. I ordered new ones last night.

It looks like that one is pretty weathered. I bet you won't have any issues with the new one.

I bet the sun has done its damage to that roller and you are seeing the after effects. Purchase a new one and no worries.

The bow roller that has good reviews is the "ultimate bow roller" by Stolz. Like everyone mentioned, that doesn't look like the Ultimate. Did the marks clean off the boat?

Yes I got the marks off with a solvent called Seal Remover that a friend gave me to remove sealer from a slate floor I have. I ordered the Ultimate to replace the one on there now.
