We are picking up our new SX195 this afternoon. Does one need to be careful with the seats and fabrics when it comes to sun tan lotion, cleaning products, etc?
What about the Sea Deck material on the back?

Thanks,
Ryan

I've never had a problem with that stuff on my seats, their vinal? so lotions just wipe off. I would spray a protectant on them, takes 10 minutes.

Sea Deck, I'm not sure. I have some dirty spots and I am not sure how to clean it.

I'm sure opinions will vary, but no I don't think so in general. I'm a huge proponent of sunblock so our entire family uses a ton and I haven't really noticed any detrimental effects on the boat seats or floor. I will say that for the SeaDek, you need a cloth rag to clean it up since you'll have to rub out the sunblock (or whatever else the kids might spill). It will chew up a paper towel quick since it is such dense foam.

If you are worried, then coat the seats with some 303 Protectant ( Amazon.com: 303 Marine UV Protectant for Vinyl, Plastic, Rubber, Fiberglass, Leather And More – Dust and Dirt Repellant - Non-Toxic, Matte Finish - 10 fl. oz. (30305): Northwest River Supplies: Automotive ) and also consider the 303 cleaner product ( Amazon.com: 303 Multi-Surface Cleaner - Safely Cleans All Water Safe Surfaces - Ultimate Cleaning Power - Rinses Residue Free - Recommended by Sunbrella, 32 fl. oz. (30204): Automotive ). I use both and they are great on all of the boat surfaces.

TLDR : Enjoy the boat and don't stress about the sunblock!

We use plenty of sunscreen, but spray sunscreen is banned on our boat. If you absolutely have to use it, it's down wind on the swimdeck. That crap will kill the seats color in the craziest patterns.

Spray on the docs, or as biffdotorg said, swim deck, which is where everything dirty happens :)
