I have a 2021 Yamaha 195S with the supercharged SVHO engine. I ordered in July and it just arrived. It's too cold to use until Spring but we stared it briefly during the once over. The salesman said the supercharged models often stall while cold/first starting and that it's perfectly normal. He said it won't happen once the engine is warm. Is this accurate?

I sure hope that is not normal, as i am currently considering buying a Waverunner with the same power plant.

If you try to give to much throttle too fast when its cold it will stall sometimes when its a cold start even if its warm out. Completely normal

This wasn't with any throttle, just starting it cold to let it idle.

Yeah my first start after launching tends to need to goose the throttle a bit to keep it from dying, which can sometimes be an issue at the ramp/dock.

Mine has stalled on occasion when i go out during winter months but fires right back up and is fine after that

Noticed the same sometimes on the first cold start.

I have 3 svho engines and on occasion when you first start any of them they will occasionally stall then all is good on the second crank. Not often. Once in a while

My TR-1‘s sometime stall when first starting up... I believe that it has a lot to do with where in the map the ECU was running when it was shut down. I usually start my engines for 10 seconds or so while on the trailer just prior to launch and no problems.
