Sx190 Bimini help

Hello all.
I have a 2012 sx190 and while towing the bikini bag opened and the top ripped in pieces. I ordered a new one from eBay but it doesn’t have the two holes in the front that the straps go through. It seems as though without the strap holes it doesn’t seem to ever fit right. Does anyone have any tips? I don’t think I can cut the Bimini without it fraying and then later ripping. Thanks all. I shouldn’t have been cheap and should have ordered one right from Yamaha!

I would look up to see if you have a canvas shop nearby. Several members have had bimini's made at these. They would be able to cut the holes and fold back the fabric and serge the edges to keep it all from fraying. And probably for pretty cheap.

Alternatively, if you are handy with a sewing machine, you could do it.

Double alternatively, send it to @zipper . Man works wonders with his sewing machine...

Thanks but it is my wife with the Juki and Sailrite lsv1 sewing machines and just got back from a week long boat cover measuring and sewing techniques course in Ohio. I'm the woodworker and metal fabricator. Find a canvas shop near you they might be able to cut slots with a hot knife, depending on the material you recieved and then add reinforcing stitching around the slot. Not something she would do without the boat being here.

The old way with a nylon strap was to cut it then melt the cut end with a lighter to keep it from unraveling.

Also thought I read on here that the 190 bimini top and frame was made by Atwood, but I have been unable to find the thread. Oh what pun.
