My original clarion head unit on my 2011 SX240 finally died so I purchased a single din Kenwood Marine Head unit and new remote. I have everything wired and working correctly including the new swim step remote, but the unit seems to be smaller than the original clarion unit. What has everyone done as a "trim kit" to fit the original opening for the head unit to be mounted nicely? Thanks in advance!

Did you have the Clarion CMD8 in that year?

I made one using some thick sheet metal, primed, and painted black. I have seen other make them out of the thick black plastic that has kind of an orange peel texture. You see this stuff a lot in the audio industry.

Search blank trim plate on Amazon.

I made my own with a black lexan cutting board from walmart. Cut with Jig saw and filed edges.
