We got ours to 54 mph
come back when u hit 56 lol JK

I would say the cool 60 degree air had a lot to do with it. during summer I was barely getting 51mph

Wow that's impressive have you done the ribbon delete or any other mods?

Ribbon delete is it.

Awesome!!! GPS, right? I heard her in the other thread - she runs awesome.

Yep GPS.

So who wants to buy fastest yamaha boat? haha

You win  I'm ok with what I got. I'll have to learn more about the ribbon delete. Crap maybe I'm not ok with it.

I figured the ribbon delete would add a few mph. I may have to do it now it seem pretty simple thanks for the post! I may have to go @swatski route and add the map tuner to the ribbon delete and see if I can get to 58 mph.

Ribbon delete also helps at low and midrange, it's just more air, and better fuel economy, too.
But once you hit the rev limiter, no more gains.

You have more experience with this than I do but can't I raise the rev limiter with the map tuner? I know I have seen guys on skis getting over 8K rpms on the 1.8 on skis.

I think you can. Swatski posted some info. Its not cheap though. I think it was $600 per ECU.

Absolutely, most Stage 1 programs are rev limited at 8,350 RPM. That's one of the main advantages of a reflash, and pretty much the only way to gain speed in a N/A 1.8l -- is to spin it faster, as those are very high compression already, and not getting more boost (unlike w/SC).

But, what I liked most about the reflash actually, and the reason I might do it again, was the awesome midrange and smooth throttle response - which became just pure pleasure to operate. I know this sounds kind of lame, but it's true, I loved the improved power delivery, made for so much more enjoyable boating experience.
I hate the slack and all the play in the OEM throttles. I almost wanted the E-throttles for that reason but those kind of scare me a little bit.
