@blacksapphirez and I went to the lake today and did a few top speed runs. His boat is FAST as he did a best of 54 MPH today (GPS)! I also filmed some top speed runs of my AR192 after the SVHO intercooler swap with a best of 49 MPH (indicated). With the intercooler upgrade I no longer have the dreaded heat soak issues robbing me of RPM's and top speed. My next mod is the ribbon delete and we'll have to do another drag race rematch.

come at me bruh lol

Don't make me get some NAWSSSSS!! :vamp:

To add to @swatski question what were you seeing before the ribbon delete was there an improvement after the ribbon delete?

....88 mph....

Have you ever thought about getting your impeller re pitched? I was getting a top rpm of 7100 and 43 mph with full load ,full tank with 2-people after heat soak. Had my impeller re pitch at impros for another 600 rpm. Now I get 7800 rpms after heat soak and have hit 50mph with full load and 2 people plus I had the top up.
That was in perfect conditions. Average is 48 mph. 5 people in boat it drops downs to about 43-44.

There are two potential issues with this approach.
One is cavitation on hole shot, which may or may not be important depending on your riding style and if/how much you tow (for water sports) -- worst case scenario (with heavy wakeboarders) would be a lot of prop slip when pulling them out of the water.
The other is hitting the rev limiter. Obviously if you are running at 7800 after heat soak, you are hitting the rev limiter hard beforehand.

No prop slip or cavitation on take off. I will hit the rev limiter for the first 5 min when we first put in the water though so I do have to back off the throttle a little. All in all it fixed my problem and am much happier with the performance of the boat. it's like night and day. I worked with Dave at impro to come up with the correct pitch.

Actually it has a faster take off than the pen prop.

Well, that is awesome. Of course one more thing to do now would be to give it even a gentle ECU reflash, such as Stage 1 Vtech, it would push the rev limiter up to make some room for those newly found revs! Not to mention, you would get some extra boost with those higher revs as well, unattainable in N/A 1.8s. But then again, your heat soak would get worse... I don't remember, have you switched to the SVHO intercooler?

Those Yammies just never seize to surprise, at least for me. I'm actually amazed you do not have more cavitation out of the hole, that OEM 192 impeller must be pitched pretty aggressively. That was my major issue with the 190 I used to run after some performance mods.
And I'm assuming you are not at any major elevation.

I will need to get into a 192 next season, now I'm really curious how those handle the low end.

Great to hear that the Impros is back to treating the customers like they used to!

No haven't done a reflash or intercooler change not sure what that would do to my warranty.
I was skeptical about the re pitch but spoke to Dave at impros several times to insure the right pitch. Needless to say I am happy. I was very disappointed before the re pitch.

Do you know if the svho and reflash would void my warranty?

The SVHO intercooler will NOT void warranty, properly installed - and it is an OEM part. There is a thread on it by @SamCF and @360dart is the guy who first figured it out. Several members have done it since.

Reflash might be tricky as far as warranty and it is a less charted territory. The SVHO (OEM) intercooler is a no brainer.

What would I gain with the cooler upgrade now? Would that eliminate the heat soak and if so my rev limiter would alway kick in right?

That is correct. But it is a good problem to have!

Since you're already a pro at taking the impeller off, lol, which is the hardest part, you could do the rest yourself - just a slight repitch. You would just dial it in by bending the trailing edge down by 1mm or so using a large crescent wrench, evenly for all three blades. Is it very easy to do with the OEM impeller, going that way w/trailing edge.

Sounds good I appreciate the help!
