Hi all

I recently moved to Nashville this past summer from Kentucky and spent just about every weekend on the water here in TN. I’m hoping to meet some new people that love being on the lake as much as I do in their free time. I’d like to plan a gathering to Old Hickory Lake just outside Nashville (15 minutes from downtown) in the spring of 2018. If I can get some traction on this thread we can throw out some dates. Water gets comfortable down here by Memorial Day weekend easily. There’s a great spot on the lake called “2 foot cove” that you can anchor down and walk from boat to boat. It’s very sandy on your feet and only about 3-5 deep in a very large space. It’s filled with boaters every weekend and a great spot to have some fun. Here’s a photos of the cove on a random summer weekend this year. Hope there’s a few TN/Nashville boaters out there looking to meet up!

I used to live 1 mile north of 2 foot on the Hendersonville side, great memories. A couple cool spots for the group to check out (in addition to the marinas with live music)...
Cliff jumping, just south of two foot, on the same shore, look for a 20'ish rock ledge and rope to climb up. Be safe!
Boat trip through the lock (call to get barge schedule so you don't wait forever) to downtown and tie up at one of the docks (both shores, but stadium side usually less busy).

Hey David,

I am relatively new to the area. Moved up from Chattanooga. I am boatless, but looking at buying over the winter or in the spring. I have not been on Old Hickory or Percy Priest yet, but look forward to exploring them in the coming year. Also...Dale Hollow, Norris Lake, Chickamauga Lake. Going through the river gorge on Nickajack in about 2 weeks will be beautiful.

Looks like there's some members near you via the user map https://jetboaters.net/usermap/

That's a sweet cove and hope you can get a gathering going. Welcome to the forum!

Feel free to reach out to me anytime to show you around Old Hickory! I have only been on Percy twice and I’ve stuck to Old Hickory because of the party cove and the proximity of my boat barn to the ramp.
I’ve spent a lot of time on Dale Hollow as well Lake Cumberland. Highly recommended the poker run at Lake Cumberland (my profile picture). It’s always the weekend after Memorial Day weekend.

Have always been curious about the Nashville. Always wanted to do a trip in may or June to that area. While still cold in chicago

let me know when you come to Norris

I boated in Old Hickory for years. I went to Hendersonville High School and consider myself a local. Love 2 foot. Water clarity in Old Hickory is not great but it's a fun lake to visit. Great coves, you can see Kelly Clarkson's house ( if she still owns, heard it was up for sale not long ago), Taylor Swift's, and the burnt down Johnny Cash house. Sam's At the Cove was our go to spot (amazing bbq chicken pizza, awesome bar scene ON the water. you can ride your boat right up to the marina and order up). Man you can throw down in that place and see some million dollar boats.

Please, please visit Center Hill for deep, clean nearby water. That's the best lake in the nearby area. Tim's Ford is also beautiful.

Happy boating in Nashville, what a phenomenal place to be.

Keep us posted if you get something ironed out for a gathering in TN. I'm in Chattanooga, so it won't be any trouble to shoot across the mountain to hang out on some Nashville lakes for a weekend! any part of the Tennessee river from Knoxville thru Chattanooga is excellent water as well and offers a great boating scene!

Recently moved back to Chattanooga from Kansas.About to sell my AR190 and move up to an AR240....What's the game plan for gatherings in TN this spring/summer/fall?

I boat on Percy Priest all summer long, its the best lake in Nashville!!!

Welcome!

We boat all over in Tennessee and KY.

Lived on Old Hickory for years but moved away. Pay close attention to those not paying attention! Same thing on Percy Priest.
Staying in the channels is very wise!
Center Hill is beautiful, but again getting crowded.

We spend most of our time at Lake Barkley in KY now. Lot of coves to get back in and relax. Less traffic for tubing, surfing and wake boarding.

Hopefully not late to the party... I'm on Percy Priest just about every chance I get, new to the forum and would def like to meet a few new faces. Labor day is around the corner!

Do any of these lakes require permits to launch or do you just pay the day of? How is the weather / conditions down in Nashville towards the middle to end of October 15-24??

Live just north of Nashville also on these lakes every chance I get still have not got the chance to go to cedar hill but want to Dale hollow is our favorite its just a bit of drive for a day trip.

Man where were all these Nashville people when I was looking for advice last year?

Here's the trip we did. Good pictures and thoughts are on the second page

All looks cool guys! We love us a Cumberland run but bahamas got in my wife's blood and all the other excursions got cut. We hope in 2021 to start exploring much more and these all look fun!
