Idiots shouldn't be able to drive any boat.

How do you drive back over your own tube! Clearly not paying attention or some substance was involved. I can't imagine what the family must be going through now.

The first jet boat I ever saw was owned by a guy with a terrible scar on most of one leg, and part of the other - he was hit by an outboard as a kid, and bought a Berkeley jet when he was old enough to buy his own boat. That was in the early 70's before too many people had caught on to jets. It's also the first boat I ever water skied behind.
Jets are safer, but there sure are a lot of idiots out there. There are some water ways near us that we only cruise because we see too many crazy drivers around to be putting people in the water.
Hope those kids are OK!

I fell off the back of my boat today, I was glad there was no outdrive for me to land on.

How was that boat pulling a 4 person tube??

Most boats have a swim step over the outdrive. You would have to try real hard to hit it. Outboards are different.

A lot of the newer ones definitely do, but my old I/O I had before did not have much of one. If you jumped straight down off the swim step, it was all prop.

How was that boat pulling a 4 person tube??
that is crazy my grandpa's old boat was 180hp and couldn't pull a 4 person tube. Also a quick search of O'Brien Super Screamer shows that is only a two person tube so lots of stupidity going on here. Poor kids.
