I have a 2012 Yamaha 242 Limited S - Just had the 5 year warranty expire and found these cracks in the stereo faceplate. I store this boat indoors in the winter and in the shade with a cover in the summer. Please check yours if you still have a warranty. There is no force being applied to this faceplate so I have no idea other than thermal failure. Anyone have a similar issue

I have the same stereo in my 2011 model. I haven't noticed any cracking on the faceplate like that. I did however just have the sub channel quit and have started noticing a little noise at low volumes, so I'm afraid mine is on the way out. It's a shame because I was overall very happy with the unit and loved the wireless RF remote. My transom remote hasn't worked since I've owned the boat.

I have the same model (2012), no issues so far. I didn't know it has a wireless remote option. I have been looking into the Fusion head units for a while, very tempting.

I really want the JL unit, but they made it an odd size so I would have to figure out a place to put it and something to fill the hole in the dash.

Audio components are excluded from YES extended warranty. I guess it could be a original warranty item during the first year.

Either way I'm out of warranty. I just can't figure out what caused it.
