I have a '08 212X, and it is difficult to change speeds smoothly because the throttle arms slightly stick upon initial movement. It's almost as if I need to spray some WD 40 or some type of lubricant, but I am not sure if that would be a good idea. Any thoughts?

Did you ever get an answer for this? I am having the same problems. I have a 2007 SX210.

I want to say on the earlier years there was an adjustment on the throttle housing... But not certain. On my year, mostly the throttles drop because they won't stick enough (and then we need to open up the whole thing and squeeze a part to get it to grab more).

I know that is not a lot of help...

I ended up spraying some silicone spray in between the throttle handles and the housing. It helped some... but I still wish it was smoother when I change speed.

2010 AR240, same thing with just the port side throttle. From what I hear the only way to fix it it to change the cables, which is my plan this fall. Not too expensive and good peace of mind—would hate to have one snap on the water.
