I happened to notice the thru hull exhaust fitting yesterday looked a little rough. the edge around the hole is exposed and doesnt' seem like the rubber gasket is properly placed. I can't recall what this looked like on my 2019. would someone be able to take alook at yours and let me know if this looks off?

I am chasing water in the bilge, and wondering if this could be a contributor. the exhaust on the other side looked very similar to the one in the picture.exhaust.jpg

Clean up the rough fiberglass and seal with a 3M 5200 type caulk then put a new rubber flapper .........the caulk needs to be sealed to the raw areas and smooth into the pipe joint............as water comes into the pipe past the flapper the caulk keeps the water inside the pipe where it belongs

is the rubber flapper trim supposed to be on the outside of the boat or inside? seems like it's not in the right place on mine but having trouble envisioning where it's supposed to be. or is there a groove on the flapper where it's supposed to around the rough fiberglass?

My best guess is after looking at the Service manual the gasket go's internal the back side of the fiberglass fits against the pipe end and get squeezed against the fiberglass............is calls for silicon caulk as a sealant and a large chunk of my silicon (squish out) has fallen out not to long ago...........maybe worth a look for me as well.

I don't remember rubber on the outside of the glass ..........only the 3 SS bolts that pulls the pipe and forward to seal, and the raw fiberglass cut ends that could soak up a little water.

The "flapper" is part of the pipe on the inside, its not replaceable by itself and yes its supposed to be on the inside. Its part of what seals the exhaust to the hull with the 3 bolts. Other than the rough edges, it supposed to be like that. The fingers are there to keep large debris from entering

thanks.... that's the conclusion I came to as well after looking up the various parts. I might just use some 5200 to clean up the rough edges and call it a day.

I was washing the boat yesterday and noticed that the starboard thru-hull exhaust fitting is coming apart/off. From reading above it sounds like it is called a "flapper" and that it isn't a sperate part as it is attached to the pipe.
What is the best fix based on the photo?

Cant tell from the photo but is there a wire going into it

Yes, it was hard to get a good photo with my cell. I was guessing that the hanging piece was trim coming off. Am I wrong?

The flapper looks fine, not sure what that other piece is

X2 on the squeezed out sealant letting loose.
You are correct. Below is the reply from the service manager at the dealer.

We see this quite often on the Yamaha boats. This piece coming out of the exhaust port is silicone that they
out around the fitting inside of boat. The fitting has a gasket which seals this piece and the silicone coming off
will not affect anything.

Best advice I can give is from what I have been dealing with since purchase coming up on 1 year ago. Bilge turns on every 20 minutes pumping out 1/2 to 1 gallon of water. Dealer states they cannot locate any leaks but re-selaed all my Ballast Inlets and checked by filling the Transom with water.

Still getting water.

Deale now states the Rear Underwater LED is leaking. Backorder until October 12th.......now December. I purchased a new LED (more Lumen) for a fraction of the cost of the OEM part (even though it would be replaced under warranty). Installed it myself and sealed the massive 1/2" hole the factory drilled for the LED wire. No leak from the LED confirmed by putting my GoPro in the Transom while drifting.

Still getting water.

Spent the day yesterday cleaning excess silicone from the Clean Out Port Rings (where the caps insert), put a check valve on the clean out port drain line, and then decided to put the drain plug in and fill the transom with the Garden Hose. Filled it up to just below the Engines. Crawled under the trailer and hello leak. Water dripping from the Transducer. Wiped off with a rag and the water come right out. Back to the Dealer I go...........

Hopefully this is the final item to solve my water intrusion. Hope this helps and good luck.
