I just noticed the screws on my Thrust Vectors are rusting already. I was in salt water once for 2 days a couple weeks ago so I know where it came from (I thought I cleaned really good after, but ..... :().

Questions
1. Are there stainless steel replacement screws available?
2. Has anyone else had this issue?
3. I'm not too worried about the 'frowny face' cross member paint peeling, but should I be?

Call Will at Jet Boat Pilot. I'm sure he'll replace them under warranty.

you should be able to take them out and take them to Fastenal or a store like home depot and match them up

I lost one due to not following the instructions to use a thread locker. I thought about calling Will as I knew he would send me a new one. But I took one into a local Fastenal and picked up a bag of stainless spares for a few dollars when I was buying some other parts.

@JetBoatPilot

We use a 304 stainless steel screw in our thrust vector kits but I have seen some surface rust on our boat at times. We can warranty the screws but likely this will happen again with replacements. I think the next grade of screw is 316. I will look into the availability of these fasteners and if possible will send 316 replacements instead of the 304.

The cross member powder coat is really for cosmetic purposes. We also fab the cross members from 304SS. If you'd like a replacement cross member we can send a new one if you'll return the old one.

Please send me an email at will@jetboatpilot.com so I'll have a reminder when I get back from vacation.
