Tie downs for salt water

We have a 25' Yamaha and use our boat primarily in the ocean. We've already gone through two sets of tie downs in two seasons. The last ones we purchased were stainless steel and suppose to be very good but still rusted almost to the point they're unusable. Any suggestions for tie downs that attach to trailer? TIA

i use these on my boat for bimini straps... stainless... 4 years now... no rust I did replace the hooks on either end with 316 stainless...

Id look for something with 2500 LB working load for tie down usage...

Never look back. The OEM ones didn't even last a year. These still look new.

Are you rinsing them down with a salt neutralizer after boating or tried spraying something like this on them to make them last longer?

I don't think you got the G2 Stainless version.... I can 99% guarantee my boat sees more salt water than yours, and I do not do anything special besides half-ass rinse them post trip. I have them on my other trailer as well... those see salt 3-5 times a week.

I did a comparison of what you sent and the ones we purchased 7 months ago and they are identical, stainless steel version. Not sure why ours didn't last but it's ratcheting components that completely rusted out and barely function. The Yamaha stock tie downs lasted twice as long. Thank you though for the response. Maybe we just got a lemon.

Boatbuckle stands behind their warranty, sounds like maybe you got a dud batch. Call 'em up, I'll be surprised if they don't send you another pair. Also make sure they go on your washdown list when you're home - while you've got the saltaway hooked up, spray them heavily.

This - if you have those exact ones they should last 100's of hours in the salt (if not 1,000s). They should send you a new set.

I have the same thing, 1 year of saltwater use no sign of rust so far. I rinse it after every outing. Are you sure they sent you stainless steel? maybe sent non-stainless by mistake? I dont even see single rust spot on mine.

Never had an issue with Orem, I spray ‘‘em once in a while with corrosion x

Just a quick update. We sent photos of the rusted out tie downs and the company thinks, even though we ordered and paid for the stainless steel, we were sent the standard ones. They are sending a new set.

Great news! The SS version are damn near rust proof.
