not being interested in conventional film , I first wrapped the exterior with a black 3M vinyl material. Being completely black was not an issue for me , but my wife did not like not being able to see out while sitting on the port bench.
Off with the black and on with a 50/50 perforated used in window wraps on vehicles. Just installed it will take a few days for the cloudyness (water/soap mix used to install) to dry out. I think this is the winner for me. Able to see out , but still looks black from the outside. Will post pics in a few days when it drys out.

Looking forward to seeing the pics. What side of the glass did you put it on? Inside?

Outside. much easier installation/removal if needed.

Looks cool.

Looks sweet! Do you have any photos from a distance? I'm interested to see how it looks compared to tints

Looks awesome with the matching black tower and window trim. Do you have a link to where you purchased the material?

Also, did you add those trailer guides/posts?

I did add the posts... Very helpful.
As for the material , and sign shop that does vehicle wraps should be able to do it. It is a white 50/50 perforated material that is printed black ( or design if you chose) then overlaid with a optically clear UV layer. Prices will vary from shop to shop , but the average for my area was $325-$400 for material

@Gonrcng a bit OT but what size are your trailer guides?

I think I bought a 41" kit and they were too short for the rail. Went to HomeDepot and and got 2 pre cut 48"ers and they are perfect.

She has been under a cover for a week , so not dry yet but looking much better.image.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpegimage.jpeg

Where did you have this done? I went to a local tint shop and they couldn't get the film to wrap around the windshield bend :/

I purchased the material from a sign shop and did it in my driveway. Any sign shop that does vehicle wraps should be able to do it or sell you the material. It is much more expensive than tint (at least in my area) material only was $360. I tinted windows for a living for many years so this was no problem to install.
Just call around for 50/50 perforated vinyl with a clear UV coating and give them measurements of your windows and go ever by 1" in each direction. They should be able to cut each piece for you.
I can't imaging installation would be much more as its a pretty easy job on these boats.

Love the idea of the 50/50 vinyl...its been awhile since your last post and I was wondering how is the longevity of the vinyl so far?

Was thinking of doing the same thing on my 242 but using the same window tint I put on my house patio doors. Was unsure if it would work as well and last. Sure made a huge difference in my sunroom. Why were you not interested in commercial tint?

Also, where did you get the fender holders? Are those drilled into the hull?

In choppy seas I don't mind seating and shielding myself from the spray when I get a little adventurous... I know it looks cool, but Won't you miss seeing out of the windshield?
