I have a 2013 SX240 HO and am operating at 2162 elevation. My top RPM is 7,000 and top speed is 46MPH. Is this what this boat should do? I was hoping to be able to hit 50 from what I have read. this is on smooth water with the driver and one passenger and a half a tank of gas. any feedback will be appreciated.

How is going to get that boat out of the water?

Sounds a fraction low, but would be better if another member at your elevation chimed in.

I can see how elevation affects power, and rpm. I cannot see how elevation effects rpm VS speed. The impeller turning at 7k rpm pumps X amount of water, through the nozzle, generating Y thrust. Same weight same thrust same speed - no?

Correct re rpm vs speed. That said, perhaps 46 is the speed that relates to 7k rpm on your boat.

Elevation is 2162. Middle Nebraska.

Not the same year, but if recollection serves correctly, I get closer to 8k...

Hopefully I will be able to get out today and check.

7k for me is about 45-46mph. 2015 ar240.

No. My top end is 7600ish and 51ish. I thought we were comparing at 7k.

Agree. Out here now and tops at 7600 or so.

Called my dealer and they are going to do some research. I feel I definately should be getting more than 7,000 rpm.

I get 7550/7600 and 51/52 with four on board at sea level in our 2012 sx240...

7600 to 7700 at sea level topping out at 51 to 52 mph.
