My boat came with 3 "fog lights" installed on the tower. I would say they are to aid in night time boating around docks and such. Well these things are just fog lights for a car and they do not broadcast well so I have been on the hunt for a cheaper alternative. I finally seen a set that isn't too expensive and hopefully will go into the same spot. My main reason for upgrading is backing up to a dock at night time. I hope this greatly improve this situation. Here is a link to the ones I bought.

I was looking at those too, but then saw that it was 1360 lummens (or roughly a 75W bulb). I would be interested in seeing how well they work for you. How many did you buy?

I bought 3 because that is what is on my tower right now. One forward facing and 2 rear facing. My lights right now are 35 watt a piece so this will be a HUGE upgrade.

35w what though? Led vs incandescent vs halogen are very different. If they are 35w incandescent, then yes- you should get a big bump, but if they are halogen or xenon, you may feel they are similar, unless the optics are different. Good luck!

They are halogen....we will see when I get them

If they are halogen you should see a real nice improvement -- 35W halogen should produce around 400 Lumens. So the 1360 lumens in the new LED ones is a nice upgrade. looking forward to seeing pictures.

I understand there was a guy here yesterday selling brown box LED light bars. Maybe you should look him up.

;):p:eek:

Holy crap you are killing me today!!!! LMAO!!

I gave him my CC info and rights to my first born -- then the thread was gone! Looking forward to getting that brown box!

Those mounts look nice! I had to work with what I already had.

Got the new lights in and on. Will not be able to tell how bright until tonight. I did do a pic side by side with the old light. I think they will be much brighter. That and it looks more modern on the tower. All in all I think a good deal so far.

That'll do. :)

Oh Man! What a great find @jcyamaharider ! I just might have to order some of these now.

@Albysure check these out. Little more lower profile than the ones you have installed.

That looks great. My tower lights are very similar to the ones you previously had and boy do they suck up the juice!
I have 3 forward, two rear.
I have two LED lights very similar to the ones you installed. I'm going to bring them out to the river with me and if I have time I'll swap them out for the rear facing lights. I think I'll go with a single, longer bar for the forward facing replacement.
I should be able to lower the power requirements significantly.

I am thinking of installing some tower lights for the purpose of boating at night (out in the lake, not near docks).
Should I go for white lights or red lights?
