Tower speaker covers

Anyone with Rev8's use these speaker covers from Rockville? Rockville Neoprene Covers For (2) Wet Sounds REV8 8" Wakeboard Tower Speakers

They're considerably cheaper than the WetSounds SuitZ covers beating them by $100. I just have a hard time paying $130 for neoprene speaker covers lol. There's no reviews out there for the Rockville covers that I've found and I was hoping someone on here has tried them and can share their thoughts on fit, quality, etc.

No report on the Rockville but I have had these for 5 years now and they are great quality for the price. Let’s the sound out too. Barely ever take them off when out and about.

I bought them for my Kicker KMTC8's and they fit perfect, quality is great, and the price is waaaaay better than other options... they are a bit stretchy too, allowing them to adapt to shapes.

Spoke too soon I guess. Apparently these won't fit on the Rev8's despite Rockville saying they're compatible. Here's a side by side comparison to the SuitZ Tower Speaker Covers? - Page 2

The Rev8 is what the ‘19 Yamaha 242X comes with, right?

The parts sites just list the OEM part number of F3F-U826B-10-00.

Perfect timing, I actually have them side by side.

Wet Sounds Suitz - Carry handles, rockville - no
WS Suitz - velcro flap to keep closed zipper in place. rockville - no
WS Suitz - protective flap between pod and zipper so to not scratch the pod. rockville - no
WS Suitz - Fit, rockville - no fit

In the pics below, you see the "corner" seam on the top? Thats where the rockvile cover's zipper stops. Its WAY past where the mount boss end is. The rockville has a small oval opening to go around the clamp boss. It is not designed to fit the Rev pod clamp mounting boss.

Had 2 1/2 years and still holding up

Now you have me looking for these too! I'm tired of the spiders in my speakers and wonder if this would keep them out, or make it worse?

Also not sure what size the Polks tower cans are that came with the 2016 242X

Looks like the same material mine is made out of.
Its like a skin tight wet suit material I guess, I find it hard for a spider to get in there.
I have never seen any bugs in mine
because it is skin tight it doesn't flap in the wind and dries pretty quickly

Make sure you get the correct size because the don't really stretch fit

I think I ordered from Crutchfield.
Looks like they don't sell the branded JL Audio ones now just the solid black which is cheaper

Bingo, that’s what I wanted to hear lol. I seen these ones on Amazon Rockville for WetSounds ICON8, pretty sure they’re the same cans as the REV8. So yeah fingers crossed, $35 sounds way better than $150 lol.??

On the other side of the spectrum, I love my wetsound covers for my rev10's. BUT I do take my speakers off every time and carry them inside If I am staying somewhere. The carry handles are nice. If I didn't have worry about that, these seem like a great option.

Welp I can confirm that the Rockville covers do not fit the Icon 8 speakers on the 2019 242x. It's the same issue that was originally mentioned. Now I wonder why they fit another boat that had the same speakers...
