Has anyone tried these speakers. Looks like no amp needed. Maybe self contained?

I haven't tried these (here is the direct link: Amazon.com: Waterproof Off-Road Bluetooth Speakers- Amplified Speaker System for ATV/UTV, Universal Mounting, Weatherproof Housing, 800W Speaker Power with Bridged Sound System- Pyle PLUTV43BTA: Gateway ). But, other times I have tried to use a bluetooth speaker with my wired speakers, there was too much of a delay to the bluetooth speaker to make it viable.

Just from the ad, I am a little skeptical. 800W in an amplified and slave configuration? With wires that size provided for power? And comments saying they sound weak?

And I would have to ask: If you are going to have to run power wires anyway, why not run speaker wires and just wire up a proper, normal speaker? Yes, you would need an amp, but I would be inclined to do that with a cheap non-marine amp before I would go for these. Just my sense.

Thanks for the information. I'm clueless when it comes to the tower speakers. Friends of mine have tower speakers but they cost well over $1,000 installed. Just looking around to see if there is an alternative method these days short of that kind of money for the short time the boat gets used in this area of the country.

Yes, I haven't invested that kind of money into those yet. But you can find enclosures pretty cheaply and furnish them with whatever speakers you like. Yes, they won't be the premium horn speakers or anything, but for some basic sound, you can probably beat the price you are looking at and put some Polks or something in there for some fine sound to the back deck without breaking the bank.

IMHO. The audio purists will likely ban me from the forum for this post. Lol!

4" speakes for boat? seriously? This is not the penis, for these purposes the size really matters.

The (8) 4in and (2) 1in speakers in my sound bar actually work pretty well to get usable sound to the water behind the boat. By itself it isn't nearly as full as a standard set of tower speakers, but with the cockpit speakers filling out the lower ranges, it's really not bad at all.

Plus I don't have to dodge watermelon sized cans with my head when I stand up!

Are you looking for sound to enjoy on the swim deck and cove or sound a rider can hear if wakeboarding/surfing etc? If just looking for some volume in the cove and swimdeck area I’d mount some 6x9’s in the engine compartment behind the swimdeck back cushions. It won’t be super loud but it will be loud enough to add some sound back there while relaxing and won’t break they bank. That being said I love the Rev8’s and they scream!
