Can someone tell me where either the tow shut off valve gets installed or if you are just clamping the hose in a tow situation...on a TR-1 engine where you clamp the hose?
Also if you have to get towed with a twin engine boat....you shut off the flow on the engine that is not running and what do you do with the engine that is running (just let it idle?)

Thanks!

Good discussion on where and some pics here: https://jetboaters.net/threads/tow-valves-on-newer-1-8-boats.754/

But there are several other threads on tow valves, too.

Idle should take care of the running engine while towing. The point is that you need exhaust pressure to keep water from backing up into the engine. Or clamp/turn valves on both engines.

If you're being towed close the tow valves on both engines. The beauty of the tow valves is if only one engine is dead is you can close the tow valve on the dead engine and go full speed on the good engine eliminating the need for a tow and ignoring the manufacturers warning about moving the boat through the water any faster than 5mph.

Locations of the tow valves vary from the engine compartment to below the cleanout tray accessible through the access port. Mine are below the cleanout tray.

I agree with @Gym, but just to clarify: If you are being towed and close both valves, make sure both engines are off...

I put mine on the line coming in the wall.

Also important to note that you also need to push the throttle all the way forward on the engine not running.
