Trailering question

Season two underway. I have about 5500 miles on my trailer at this point. I recently noticed a vibration while trailering so decided to have the wheels pulled and balanced. They were out of balance and that cured that problem. I noticed today, while traiering to the lake, I get a surge forward & aft from time to time. Any idea what may cause that? Nothing has changed as far as the loading of the trailer (bow stop) so I'm just not not sure why this has cropped up. Anyone else have this happen? T h a n k s....Kevin

The surge forward and back is probably your surge brakes activating. There should be some adjustment you can make. Cam.

When it is happening? Starting and stopping under normal driving conditions?

If so, you should check your fluid level in the resevoir in the tongue. It could be low brake fluid or an air pocket or just the nature of the beast as my trailer does the same thing from time to time with no regularity.

@Murf'n'surf It happens when driving down the road at normal speed. Starting and stopping is not an issue and, I am on level ground. Maybe it's normal but I just want to be sure. Thanks!

I agree with @Murf'n'surf check the brake fluid in the trailer.

While you are coasting, your trailer can actually gain speed and trigger the brakes. This is normal.

That makes sense @Murf'n'surf , I think that explains what's happening.
