For the last few years we have been using some leftover silvadene cream. It is a great product but requires a prescription.

I bought a box of single use packs of Water Jel First Aid Burn Cream. @Rana tried a few packs and said it works well. So it may become our new sunburn treatment but I am wondering what everyone else uses?

I just dull the pain with a steady dose of miller lite and tequila.:winkingthumbsup"

I get burnt on a moonlit walk, I use aloe lotion and take some Motrin or something. I've heard that vinegar works better than anything but I haven't tried it, if (when) I get burnt again I might try it.

You all are going to think I'm crazy, but I swear by egg whites.

Crack an egg into bowl, throw away the yolk, and rub the egg whites on your sunburn. It takes away the sting right away, and the next day it feels like you hardly burned at all.

Try it, you'll become a believer!

Aloe vera gel

I don't burn that often but it's usually followed by a high octane beverage or 6 and whatever green or blue goo is around.

Does it also smell like a delicious breakfast?:joyful:

:devilhorns: In North Texas it gets hot enough to fry an egg on your sunburn!! :devilhorns:

Aloe Vera and a baby aspirin and make another appointment at the dermatologist. Word to the wise, don't sunburn! I didn't listen either, now I get to visit the Dr. every six months. She tells me that if I would just wear good sunscreen reapplied frequently, I wouldn't burn. They really shame you when you repeat this behavior.

I've only burned badly once - that was in Aruba. My wife decided to rent a top less Jeep and take a self guided tour of the f'in desert. That was a BAD idea.
Medicated myself - as per @BigN8 recommendations by poolside the next day.

I have used the green or blue gel with aloe made by Tropicana or Bannana Boat. Keep applying it for days to lessen the burn feel and slow the peeling.

I decided that I'm done burning and wear a long sleeve rash guard shirt nowadays. I'm not sure what changed in my skin, but with 50SPF my shoulders and back can't take it. There are a ton of quality spray on and roll on (like deodorant) sun screens out there that are super easy to use--- so no excuse to get a bad burn! Stay safe out there!

I am with you on dressing for the occasion @Murf'n'surf , I will flat out burn, and high SPF won't last long enough or I am too lazy to reapply soon enough. So the big Yamaha wide brimmed hat and a shirt with sleeves. I look stupid at Gatherings!

I used to worship the sun but I've been working outside in it so much that come the weekend I want to hide from it!

2x on the aloe vera gel. We have about a gallon of the stuff around the house. Just in case.

Anyone have a bamboo shirt?
A local sports shop in Panama City swears by them, light weight and very comfortable...

I use aloe plants. Takes 30 seconds to strip the skin off and they grow like weeds in pots in the screen room.

Oh crap...I scrambled the eggs!!:banghead:

Gobs of thick aloe. Handful and let absorb. Reapply every 30 minutes aS it absorbs and dries up.
