I say no power, I haven't checked everything. The boat has not been run since last June, until yesterday. It is stored indoors under its mooring cover and has literally a brand new HU and stereo system, installed by me and @Earmark Marine . Yesterday, we went to just run the boat, as it has been so long out of the water. I did the usual checks and everything was good to go. Launched and motored away from the dock. Once clear, I tried to power up my Fusion IP700 and it was dead. I checked my fuses and all appear good but may be one inline I didn't get to check. It ran fine last June and then traveled with batteries off, on our trip to Arizona last year, and we had motorhome trouble so we never made it to water. We just came home and put the boat away. Any ideas on what to check? I will add that I washed the boat last week, by hand, I didn't spray anything with water. But in the sun, I noticed as I wiped the dash, that the display appeared fogged on the IP700. 10 minutes later it was clear. Not sure what that is about as it is sealed and weatherproof. I will put in a call to Odin at Earmark too. [USERGROUP=9]@HELP[/USERGROUP]

First thing I would check is the power to the main wiring connector on the back of the head unit... if it has power, the unit's probably damaged. If it doesn't, it's probably a fuse or switch somewhere.

Edit: Realized you have a 2012... if it's one of the fancy "everything is integrated" units like on the 2015's the above may not be real easy to check. :S I'm just not sure when they made the switch to a single integrated system.

Might be a silly question. . . . but did you hook ALL cables back up to the battery?

I have that on the agenda this morning and thanks! I know that it is wired in direct with the fuse. I have just never seen it not come to life, but I haven't looked for a year either. But it is stored dry, indoors, and doesn't have a spot of corrosion anywhere...so seems very strange.

I think the biggest problem is that your boat has been dry for 13 months!!!!

I agree on confirming there is power to the back of the HU then work backwards if there is not. I have pressure washed my dash with my IP600 installed without any issues.

The boat has 16 hours on it. In the first 5 hours, I had issues with the Clarion HU and remote. Got credit from Yamaha and bought the Fusion IP700 and matching transom remote. Ran it 10 hours approximately and no issues. I have a well advertised wiring system with ground and acc bus bars, and Earmark helped me get the amps and power distribution for them set up as I ran out of time. So no cables have ever been removed...I just turn the battery switch on or off.

Have you checked the voltage? I believe the HU has a low voltage shutoff.

When I saw the fogging in the HU display, that alarmed me. But it has never even been rained on or hosed off like that. So I don't think that is it. I appreciate the thoughts, we are getting ready for the big trip again with it and I am trying to eliminate issues from the start. That is why I went out yesterday and ran it. Ran good, Clara said, its louder than I remember! lol Well, we mostly cruise at cruise power settings...yesterday, I spent a half hour at WOT, because I want fresh gas in it or at least mixed with fresh gas!

I keep the AGM batteries plugged in with a smart Pulsetech charger, and I was showing 14.4v when running, of course that is charging system voltage, but if it is showing that, the batteries are handling it. The batteries have less than 10 hours on them, and are 2 years old, always maintained. If I had a bad cell or battery, the pulse tech would let me know too.

Seems like it has to be a wire, because not having run it, I don't see a chance I could have blown the fuse if I never turned it on. I looked at the big amp fuse and the acc fuses, they were all good, but I didn't check continuity on them last night on the lake, I didn't have my meter.

Apologies for using the help request, but it was pretty urgent. We have been out of pocket with the new grand daughter and the kids, and trying to wrap up for the Powell trip coming up fast. So I needed the help! I heard that this forum was good about that.:winkingthumbsup"

x3 on checking power at the rear of the HU if possible. When I did that I found I needed a new radio and it was also after sitting for the season. These things do die and I put them right up there with the disposable horns that come on our boat. Next, if you have a remote tied into the HU and it is easy enough to unplug, you could try that. When my remote gets wet, it affects the HU so unplugging it makes the HU operational

It sounds like a wire (corrosion or connection).

Last June.... really?

So I have checked power. I have power to the fuse just prior to the HU, and the fuse continuity is good. The unit won't power on. I pressed the reset button inside the HU door. I'm at a loss.

Can you try making a jumper and bypassing the fuse to test? Maybe a bad connector?

I checked voltage too. I have 12.4 volts static, without charger or engine on. I get that low voltage cans and will cause amp cutout. But HU cutout? I haven't seen that in the stock HU. Even so, voltage is good. I combined batteries to test just in case but HU still won't come up.

I had the socket for an inline fuse fail at Shelbyville this year. If you can jumper around the fuse, that would rule out wiring issues.

That just leaves the HU... :( Although it would seem strange that it failed while not in use, it is possible that something came apart while in tow.

Perhaps connect the head unit directly to a battery to see if it will power on?

Talked to Fusion. Going to FedEx it to them and they are going to check it out. I can try to power it off 12v direct but I have to get this out and back ASAP. Thanks for all the help!

I would check it directly connected to a battery before shipping. It is probably bad but it will save you a lot of time if it powers up when connected to the battery.

Hey... there are two power wires that must be connected... I cant remember which ones but they both have to have power.... I'm old... it will take a few to remember ..
