Is there any reason why Yamaha can't build a true head into the 24' boats? I saw two Sea Rays, a 24.5' and 25.5' model that both have decent sized heads. It seems to me that Yamaha would have the space but for some reason I have to be a contortionist to get into ours.

those look awesome.

I know what you mean, ours is less than ideal, especially if you are large or older...

I think of it as more of an emergency head, if you need to go, you have to twist yourself in......

Those SeaRay's with the outboards look really nice.

Just my observation/opinion from shopping Yamaha and Chaps...it all comes down to the door. Yamaha built more for storage and emergency head use with a door that opens mainly just on the side. That is what makes it difficult to get in/out of. Chaps (and other manufacturers) have more of a clamshell head door that gives more room front and side to get into the compartment. The drawback of that style is it gives up storage/wall space and the ability to hang up shelving like folks have done in the Yamahas.

But head room also seems to be an issue. I am 6' but fairly thin. I agree getting in the door is hard but even once I am in there I end up in the fetal position. As I have told everyone who comes onto the boat - "when you use the bathroom, everyone sits, and if you go number two - the cleaning is on you."

My thought is if you wanna go poo on the boat deal with the constraints or get a different boat. 10 years with this boat and 25 with various boats and not one time was taking a poo an issue with anybody.

We primarily use the head as a storage area. I do have a bucket with a toilet frame on it in there and there are is also a bag that goes inside the bucket. If ya have to use #1, the general recommendation is to 'help fill the lake' or there's a quart-size gatorade bottle on board. For the women who may need to go #1, there are several places about the lake I can easily stop at to help them out.

If someone MUST use the bucket, the rule is: you're welcome to however, I expect it to be returned in the same condition you found it. In other words, I'm a not cleaning it...you do.

Yeah....never used mine for anything but storage. Wouldn't want a fixed one in there.

There's a reason why I carry toilet paper on my boat. It's to be used off my boat. Finding or digging a hole isn't that big of a deal and no nasty bucket cleanup.

We actually use the head often..... ,I have 3 women onboard, and I wouldn't own a boat without one. I would love to have larger room for the head but I don't want to have to pump it out. Removable is fine.

Are we all going to pretend like we don't just poop in the lake?

The bucket room in the console is the biggest reason we wound up with the FSH rather than the SX190 for fishing and cruising. At 15~miles out in the Gulf, the rocking works better than coffee. I tried jumping in the water years ago. Damn thing followed me around. Couldn't get away from it. Been a bucket guy ever since. Cousin crapped down the side of his Mako one time. Didn't realize it until we got back to the ramps. Bucket guy.

@Hannibal I'm just envisioning the jaws music was in your head as Mr. Hankey followed you around :D
