I could sell my boat, take the family on a couple of trips and then still have enough left over to pay for 2022. It is all sillyness.

I hope there aren't that many people dumb enough to pay that......

Oh never mind....of course there are!

We have two deposits on the same boat at least until the next round of cuts from Yamaha are announced tomorrow. Unfortunately there are always people who will try to game or prey on other people, I hope they don't get that, price for it.

While I hope they don't get it, they may. There are people with throw away money, and don't really care about an extra 20grand.

@adrianp89 You are spot on... We are not those type of people.. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to have that kind of extra dough lying around to at least try it out :)

I get people jokingly/half serious asking to buy my boat. I tell them it would take north of 100k to make me sell.

Holy crap. If that boat sells at that price, I would have a hard time not selling my 195. There are enough $5000 Larson/Sea Rays that could buy us part of our summer back and give me an extra $15000 on a new 212X.

I love my 252SE, but I would hand the keys to somebody today for $100K. ?

I don't think it's really gaming or preying on people, it's a crazy market right now for boats, houses, plywood, etc. Everything is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, and right now, this particular person thinks someone might pay $60k, they may be wrong, they may be right, but either way it's not preying on people.

I saw that same listing. This may sound weird but I think it’s up there to drive people to his YouTube channel. It’s all that’s listed in the description. Boat prices are insane right now though.

Agreed- and if someone is financially irresponsible enough to pay $60k for a $35k boat they also deserve to be $30k under water when the market returns to more normal times..I personally will go without something (such as the 36 x 56 garage I was planning to build this summer) before I over-pay in an inflated market.

I am still trying to decide whether to sell, bank the cash until the crash, or just keep it and enjoy it.

If the market dumps, these same boats will be worth 50% in 2 years. I figured the market would start coming down but I also didn't expect eviction moratorium to be extended and I believe that is holding things back.

Between inflation, low job numbers, and people behind on rent/house payments across the country, it is only a matter of time. People are spending money like they are rich.

In the end you can’t put a price on memories.

It is tough to say when the market will crash and what that means. 50% is a bit of stretch. Yamaha will keep increasing the price of their new boats every year a bit which will keep up used boat prices somewhat.

@FSH 210 Sport Price on Memories??? I think we can agree the price on those memories are somewhere south of $60k on a 195 :) :)

I see a dip, but a 2008 crash is hard to buy.

I know y‘all are just goofin mainly. I’m just thinking of all the great memories I’ve made on my boat, in just one year mind you, and I wouldn‘t trade them for any price.

You are right... But taking a year or two off to better yourself....

I am also banking on a housing crash (not CRASH, but big dip) where I want to have as much cash as possible on hand for.

This is why I don't think the dip will be that big. Lots of us are keeping cash in hand, waiting for a big dip, and then we just drive it right back up.
