I have a 2007 AR230HO. On one of my engines I could not get the RPM’s to go above 5,000 at full throttle and the engine even cut off at one point when I slowed down. The other engine seems to be operating perfect but with one only getting to 5,000 RPM’s it was hard to get the boat to go above 30mph at best...I checked the clean out plugs and they were in securely. I did look into the engine compartment and noticed the same engine that was acting up was really shacking around when idling. Could this be bad spark plugs or am
I looking at bigger issues???

Does the oil smell gassy? When you check the oil is it more full than you remember? Is the oil thin? If the answer is yes, then you need your ECU reworked. Call ‭+1 (916) 799-4327‬. He is super easy to work with. About a $400 fix and a few weeks off the water.

Double check that all battery connections are tight, loose fitting can cause the ECM to act up. Also with your year boats, a spark plug change solves lots of issues...

Probably the plugs
Always assume that first with your style engines
I had one that would only turn 7k and new plugs fixed it

Be sure to look at the link in my signature below for good info about your boat

Update: ends up the oil was overfilled by a full quart in each engine! (I’ll stop overpaying the marina for oil changes and do this myself from now on...). I pulled a quart from each motor AND changed the plugs. A couple of the plugs from the engine acting up actually had oil on them which I was concerned about. After these two things, the boat was hauling a$$!!! I hope no bigger damage was done due to too much oil, but at this point it’s running great! Thanks everyone for the input! I love this forum!

Great! Double check that your air filters are not soaked with oil from the overfill.

The air filter from the motor that was acting up was fairly dirty with oil, I was thinking that probably needed changed out...

The oil is high again in the motor!!!? How?
You have an injector stuck open. It is flooding your oil resovoir. The ECU is telling your injector to stay open. Get them reworked. Call the number or text that i gave you at the beginning of the thread. Exact same thing happened to mine. I’m sure your oil is thin and gassy as well.

Smell the oil. Gas smell? You got a bad injector and/or ECU
