Vortex reverse gate loose

My reverse gate has some play in it when the throttle is in neutral. I think it's moving up and down into the jet thrust when moving forward. And when I turn - even a bit, the boat seems to have significant drag and loses momentum. Anyone know what could be causing this? 2016 Chaparral Vortex 203 VR
