@jcyamaharider was gracious enough to send JBN a wake wedge to demo at the Lake Murray get together in June.

I have it here at Lake Lewisville now and will for a week after the get together. If you can't make the Lake Murray event pm me and we can try to set up a time and I'd be glad to take you out for a test on Lewisville.

If want to learn more about the wake wedge and getting a better surf wake look at this thread,

And if you need another stamp of approval for the wake wedge....just ask me! I can attest to the amazing ability to turn our boats into a wake machine!

I can't wait to see how your group likes it!!

I'm very interested in this, probably just not this season as I just got the boat and mods will be hard to get past the wife at the moment.

What kind of minimum ballast am I going to need for surfing. Usually 4 adults and 3 kids (6, 4, 2 year old).

Thanks for any and all advice.

Ed

i run 1100 per side.....only filling the surf side while surfing. makes an incredible wake with only four total people on the boat. @Edward

1600 minimum for a 24ft boat.

Does most of the weight need to be in the back?

Yes surf side

I never ran a minimum on my 210 , I guess I will have to try that this year ! If I had to guess 700-1000 minimum

@jcyamaharider How are you progressing on the 2005 23' model?
Its moving along, but not at a brisk rate. I have sent out one bar and I need to make a few changes and send out a bar again to see if my changes helped.

On your 212x where else do you have ballast. I have been screwing around and can't seem to get it right. I saw 600 each rear storage, 350 on the top of the swim platform and one guy filled his ski locker. Any suggestions welcome - again I have a ar210 2013 and will sell it if I cant get a wave for wakesurfing

Don't know about 212 specifically, but you need to put the majority of ballast surfside, not evenly distributed. We have 800 in ski locker and up to 1200 surfside depending on people in the boat.

This has probably been asked so let me apologize now, but is there a model for the '15 24 footers? If so anybody have photos/videos?

There is not one on a 2015 yet but in 2 more weekends there will be if timing works out for everyone involved. We will have video and pictures for everyone once we do.

@Chris AR210 I replaced the stock bags with custom bags from wakemakers. that's all i use for ballast and get an amazing wake. i place anyone in the boat on surf side...but that's it! i posted a wake wedge video recently if you want to see it.

Here is @bobbie new setup with wake wedge.

I was able to spend a great afternoon/evening with Scokil on Lake Ray Hubbard trying out the wake wedge yesterday. We had a really good wave once we had aprox 2,500lbs on board, as mentioned before ballast placement is key and we probably didn't have ours the best with 800lbs in the ski locker which probably would have been better served on the port side rear seat.

If anybody else wants to go I'd be glad to show it to you, With Lewisville closed I may be going back to Lake Murray in the next week or two with my boat otherwise I don't mind driving an hour to meet you if you have an 07-09 model. Just give me a PM if your interested

This past trip, 3000 lbs.
